Agia Pelagia is a seaside area - on the north coast of Crete Island - which consists of many small coves and several large, very beautiful, bays. Beaches unique in beauty offering crystal clear waters. But its not only about beaches, sea, summer. Agia Pelagia and the sourounding areas (bays) of Lygaria, Made, Mononaftis, Kladissos, Psaromoura, Achlada rural village, Cape Stavros - the whole area, either its the coastal part or up the hills and mpuntains, is extraordinary. We hope this website will help to give you a small taste of the beauty of the area, a very small idea of what it feels be in Agia Pelagia/Crete.

Agia Pelagia was a small picturesque fishing village, 21 km far from the capital city Heraklion for most part of the last century. The residents of Achlada where the only inhabitants, mostly working in agricultury, fishing and animal raising while in the mid seventies the beauty of the area attracted much attention and Agia Pelagia soon became a very popular and beloved holiday resort for the locals and foreigners.

AgiaPelagia.com was live as a website close to 20 years ago but only in the last two-three years there were serious activities taken place to collect and publish lots of info, photo content, videos etc about the whole area of Agia Pelagia resort (the main village of the area: Agia Pelagia, as well as Lygaria, Made, Mononaftis, Kladissos. Also including Achlada traditional rural village, Stavros Cape and also Fodele traditional village - allthough (Fodele) is not in the area of Agia Pelagia it lays in a very close proximity).
